Compliance Glossary for Confluence

Who can manage glossary terms?

Configured Term Managers (RBAC) can perform governed term administration. Production resolvers check the authenticated account, active license, and configured role before protected actions. Four-eyes rules still separate approval from content creation. Readers can view approved macro content as designed, but read access does not grant management authority.

How it works

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Open Term Managers (RBAC).
  3. Add the approved manager accounts.
  4. Save the role configuration.
  5. Confirm protected actions with a manager account.
  6. Confirm a normal reader cannot administer terms.

Example

A policy author can edit Confluence pages but is not a term manager. The author can read approved glossary macros. The app blocks governed term administration. A configured manager can create drafts, while a different eligible manager approves them.

What this does not mean

App roles do not define organizational authority, employment duties, or legal qualification. Administrators remain responsible for selecting appropriate managers and reviewing access.
